Which Psychologists Are Licensed by CDA?
In Dubai, psychology professionals are regulated by two separate authorities depending on their scope of practice:

Qualification and Experience Requirements
Psychologist
Pathway #1
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in the field of psychology* And Master’s degree of a minimum two (2) years in Psychology
Experience:- Two (2) years of experience post qualification
Pathway #2
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in the field of psychology* And Doctoral degree in Psychology
Experience:- One (1) year of experience post qualification in related field
Specialized Psychologist
Pathway #1
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in the field of psychology* And Master’s degree of a minimum two (2) years in one of the listed Psychology specialties below
Experience:- Two (2) years of experience post qualification
Pathway #2
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in the field of psychology* And Doctoral degree in one of the listed Psychology specialties below
Experience:- One (1) year of experience post qualification in related field

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (includes B.A. or B.Sc.) in psychometrics

Bachelor’s degree (includes B.A. and B.Sc.) in psychology from a psychology department faculty or an educational faculty with a focus on psychology

* For Psychology titles with a bachelor’s of 3-year course duration, three (3) years of experience are required in related field.
** Psychometrist and Assistant Psychologists can practice only under supervision by a Licensed Psychologist.

Additional Mandatory Requirements
- Valid Registration / License: Applicants must hold a valid professional license or registration from their home country and/or country of last employment (where applicable).
- Good Standing Certificate (GSC): A valid GSC is required from the same licensing authority that issued your license(must be issued within the last 6 months).

CDA Licensing Process – Step by Step
Step 1: Pre-Application Requirements
Before submitting your application to the CDA Licensing Department, you must complete two critical verification processes. These steps ensure that your academic and professional history are authenticated.
1. Degree Equalization
For Degrees from Outside the UAE: You must obtain an equalization of your highest academic degree through the Ministry of Education (MoE).
For Degrees obtained within the UAE: Equalization is not required.
2. Primary Source Verification (Dataflow)
You must verify your qualifications and work experience through Dataflow.
Start the Process: Visit the Dataflow Gateway
Required Document: Download and sign the Letter of Authorization (attached) to allow Dataflow to conduct the report.
Step 2: Application Submission
Once you have received your results from the Ministry of Education and Dataflow, please compile the following documents and Submit the complete application package via email to the CDA Professional Licensing Department.

Step 4: Professional Licensing Examination
All applicants are required to pass a professional examination held at the British University in Dubai.
